A Winter Garage Sale

February 5, 2014 — 4 Comments

The other weekend I went to a huge indoor garage sale at the fairgrounds. I was skeptical, but it ended up being a really fun experience. Especially since this winter has been unbearably cold, it was nice to get out of my house and do something different.

So what did I come away with? Four things and I only spent $6.50! That’s what’s up.

I walked away with a $2 wool blanket, a $2.50 metal book stand, a $1 plastic bowl, and a $1 tooth. The blanket and the plastic bowl were both ready to be used immediately (well, after they were both washed) so here is where they went in my house:

The funny thing about this blanket is that I found it wadded up underneath a table at the sale. I just really liked the color and even though it was really dirty I thought it could be cleaned up. So I asked the vendor if he would sell it to me and he said he normal uses it to wrap things in that are getting packed away but that he’d take $2 for it. Um, no brainer! I was a little nervous that it wouldn’t clean up well since it was pretty dirty, but it washed up perfectly 🙂 Also, even if it didn’t come clean, a stained blanket still keeps you warm. #wisdom

I use this little bowl to put my earrings/bobby pins/ponytail holders in.

The book stand and the tooth need a little work so I’ll show you those in a separate post.

Have you ever been to a huge indoor sale like that? I highly recommend it!
